Visiting Yakutat offers one
of the greatest photo opportunities you will ever find. Driving through the Tongass
National Forest you can see moose, bears, deer, wolves, rabbits, wildflowers,
lakes, streams, rivers, long sandy beaches on the coastline, and tall spruce and
hemlock trees dripping with moss in the midst of our beautiful rain forest.
The
surrounding peaks of the Fairweather Range and Mt. Saint Elias gives you an ever
changing panoramic view of the splendor that is Alaska. Soaring above and nesting
nearby are majestic bald eagles.
Heading out to the fishing grounds you'll see whales, sea otters, seals, sea lions,
and even a brave surfer or two. Hubbard Glacier in Disenchantment Bay brings you
to a world of frozen wonder with ice bergs drifting slowly out to sea and the
thunderous sound of the constantly calving glacier echoing throughout the bay.
No
matter where you go in Yakutat and the surrounding area, you won't want to forget
your camera...
