Planning
a steelhead fishing adventure on the Situk River in Yakutat,
Alaska? While you're here don't miss the opportunity to experience
saltwater fishing at its best! With majestic 18,008 ft. Mt.
Saint Elias to the west, the 15,000 ft. peaks of the Fairweather
Range to the east, and scenic Hubbard Glacier just around the
corner, Yakutat is one of the finest fishing destinations in
the world.
Take a
day off from steelhead fishing and board the "Sea Raven",
a comfortable 27' Sea Sport. Relax with a fresh cup of coffee
while Capt. Geoff Widdows takes you on the adventure of a
lifetime fishing for halibut and salmon. Geoff is a year-round
resident of Yakutat with 35+ years of local sportfishing and
commercial fishing experience.
Don't
forget to bring your camera. This is your opportunity to fill
your album with photos of whales, bears, deer, moose, eagles,
wolves, sea otters, sea lions, and seals.

"To the greatest skipper I've ever fished with, Geoff.
My sincerest thanks for a most efficient, well managed, productive,
socially pleasurable fishing trip, (of many lifetime excursions).
God willing I'll be back next year."

Best
Fishing Times
These
are the times that these particular fish are generally available.
However, weather is a factor too. If it's stormy, it doesn't
matter how many fish are laying on the bottom waiting to get
caught, you can't get out there to find them!
The
best weather usually occurs from mid-April through the end
of June. Halibut are available all season long with
the best months being April through July. Ling cod
and other bottom fish are available all season long.
Coho salmon are available in saltwater August through
mid September with the peak in mid-August. King salmon
are available all season long, primarily May, June and July.
